Chef Rian Wyllie leads the kitchen at Little Giant. Hailing from Boston, Rian was the Executive Chef of Deep Ellum and Lone Star Taco Bar for the past ten years. Deep Ellum was named Best Neighborhood Restaurant, Best Brunch, and Best Late Night by Boston Magazine. In 2016, Lone Star Taco Bar was named Best Taco in Boston by Boston Magazine.
Max Overstrom-Coleman is the bar manager. With over twenty years in hospitality, Max will be leading the bar program that has already been named to Imbibe Magazine’s 2017 class of ‘Imbibe 75,’ which names the people and places they think will shape drinking culture for the year.
Darcy Brennan Poor will be leading the Bakery/Pastry program. A West End resident, she studied at the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan. She worked at Runner and Stone in Brooklyn, a retail bakery and restaurant that specializes in naturally leavened breads, viennoiserie pastries, and desserts.
Andrew Volk is the general manger of Little Giant and Briana Volk is the creative director. Their first venture, the Portland Hunt + Alpine Club is a two-time James Beard semi-finalist for 'Outstanding Bar Program' (2015 & 2017) and was named one of Bon Appétit's "5 Best New Cocktail Bars in America" in 2014.
Andrew was named one of Food + Wine Magazine's 10 "Best New Mixologists" in 2016.
With their business partners and West End residents, Ian and Kate Malin, they are excited to bring Little Giant to the neighborhood.
